Teaching Assistant Vacancy (15 hours per week)

Required to start 1st September 2020, we are looking for a warm and committed teaching assistant to join our dedicated and caring staff team.

This is a permanent, part time, term time only post.  
Hay Grade 9 SCP 14-19 (£7,798.00 - £8,309.00 per annum).
Hours of work - 15 hours per week:
12.30pm - 3.30pm Wednesday
8.50am - 3.30pm Thursday (40 minutes unpaid lunchbreak)
8.50am - 3.30pm Friday (40 minutes unpaid lunchbreak)

The ideal candidate will:
- Be committed to learning, both for children and self
- Be flexible, hardworking and sensitive to children’s needs
- Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Be pro-active and able to use own initiative
- Enjoy cake and sugary treats!

 Applicants must have:
- A good standard of general education, to include literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ2 in English and Maths.
- NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or other relevant qualification with at least one years practical experience of working with children,
or;
- A minimum of 3 years previous experience of working with children in an educational context with evidence of relevant training in the appropriate age range or curriculum/learning area.

This will be a specific purpose contract to facilitate support for a pupil with an EHCP plan. Should the pupil leave the school or the pupil’s EHCP be removed the post will cease.

Caretaker/Handyperson Vacancy
Required as soon as possible, a Caretaker/Handyperson for 20 hours per week.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible colleague to join our hard working and dedicated staff team.  You must be able to demonstrate initiative as your duties will include: 

  • Opening/closing school site
  • Day to day maintenance
  • Cleaning

The annual leave entitlement for full time all year round employees is 24 days, rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service, plus 9 bank/public/extra statutory days (i.e a total of 6.6 weeks, or 7.6 weeks after 5 years’ service).  A maximum of 5 days annual leave can be taken during term time, the remainder must be taken in school holidays, in agreement with the Headteacher.

We are looking to appoint a School Business Manager to join our dedicated, hardworking team from 1st September 2020.  Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced people with strong finance/accounting skills.
