Our allotment is a project that we started last year. This Autumn, we were able to harvest the crops and prepare the ground ready for the Spring planting. We have also put a lot of bulbs and cuttings into the ground and containers to make the area a tranquil and pretty place.
Year 4 took part in a come-and-try football tournament which was great fun!
In October, the whole school took part in Book Week. We had the Etherington Brothers (comic writers and artists) come and talk to us which was fab. We also had our traditional 'Book at Bedtime' where the children dressed up in their pyjamas and dressing gowns. Lots of other activities took place including going to look at the Book Fair and reading to the Year 2 children.
School Trip to Ashford Water Treatment Works
The class went to the reservoir and treatment works at Ashford in Somerset in support of our learning about rivers and water. We had a guided tour of the Works, a nature trip around the reservoir and then spent the afternoon studying streams and water flow. We had a lot of fun.

Restart a Heart Training
On the last day of term, cardiac nurses from RUH came to Year 4 and trained children on what to do if they find someone who is not breathing. Thanks to Becci Garrett and her team for the wonderful training. Hopefully the children will never need it!

New Shed for Allotment
A great big thank you to Cotswold Homes who kindly donated £250 to the school for the purchase of a new shed for the allotment. Mrs Hayes-Pugh came to 'open' the shed and is seen together with children from Year 4.
Trip to the Roman Baths
Year 4 had a great trip to the Roman Baths in support of our learning on the Roman influence in Britain. As well as seeing the sights and drinking the special water, we had a workshop with the museum staff and even had time to go to Bath Abbey!
